Duties

  • Identify hazards, assess occupational health and workplace environmental risks, and establish effective risk control measures to prevent incidents, occupational diseases, and workplace-related losses.
  • Support the Production Engineer team in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to underground mining activities, including drilling, blasting, and mechanized mining operations, ensuring all safety aspects are properly implemented.
  • Identify potential emergency situations and develop effective emergency response plans, including risk mitigation strategies and emergency control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, standards, and emergency management procedures to support safe and continuous company operations.
  • Coordinate and execute general OHS operational activities, including incident investigations, weekly safety reviews, safety meetings, hazard identification, risk assessments, and continuous improvement of safety procedures.
  • Conduct field verification and monitoring of safety standard implementation within underground mining operations to ensure workforce compliance with safety requirements.
  • Perform regular inspections and verification of underground safety facilities and equipment, including Refuge Chamber, Fire Extinguishers (APAR), and Self-Rescue equipment, ensuring readiness during emergency situations.
  • Support the development and competency improvement plan for Emergency Response Team (ERT) personnel to ensure they are capable of handling underground mining emergencies.
  • Demonstrate strong integrity and commitment to company values while maintaining effective communication with internal stakeholders, contractors, government representatives, business partners, and surrounding communities.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in relevant field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in mining operations, preferably in underground mining safety management.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Occupational Health Safety (OHS), underground mining operations, risk management, and emergency response systems.
  • Strong understanding of mining safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety improvement programs.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate safety teams and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in leadership training or team management.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken).
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Possess relevant mining safety certification, preferably POM (Pengawas Operasional Madya).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Willing to work in an underground mining environment with moderate exposure to operational risks.
