Duties
Conduct geotechnical studies and feasibility assessments (FS) to support mine development and long-term planning.
Develop and review geotechnical models, design parameters, and engineering recommendations for pit slopes, waste dumps, haul roads, and other mining infrastructure.
Perform geotechnical analysis and evaluation using geological, geotechnical, hydrogeological, and laboratory data.
Support trade-off studies, design optimization, and risk-based evaluations for project and operational improvements.
Prepare technical reports, feasibility study documentation, and engineering presentations for management and stakeholders.
Identify geotechnical risks and recommend mitigation strategies during the study and design phases.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to slope design optimization, geotechnical standards, and engineering practices.
Ensure all study outputs comply with company standards, engineering best practices, and government regulations.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Mining, or Civil Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mining geotechnics.
Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
Skilled in software such as Rocscience 2D & 3D, Sirovision, Leapfrog, Surpac, and MS Office.
Experienced in planning and scheduling geotechnical studies, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated team leadership in geotechnical studies and data-driven decision-making.
Expertise in geotechnical analysis, slope stability, feasibility studies, and preparation of comprehensive geotechnical reports.
Possess POP certification and other relevant geotechnical certifications, such as CP or slope stability training.
Awareness of company safety and environmental standards.
