Duties

  • Act as the on-site owner’s representative for all process plant scope (crushing, milling, CIL, recovery, detox, process utilities).
  • Collaborate with the EPC/EPCM contractor to ensure process design meets project requirements, is technically correct, and stays on schedule.
  • Resolve any technical issues related to process systems during design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure effective integration of process systems with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) to avoid delays and ensure smooth plant operation.
  • Lead process engineering during design, procurement, and construction, optimizing designs for the expanded plant to meet project goals.
  • Develop and review PDCs, PFDs, P&IDs, plant layout, equipment installations for constructability and operability and other related documentation.
  • Ensure correct installation of process equipment including mills, tanks, pumps, agitators, launders, piping, and instrumentation interfaces.
  • Lead process readiness for commissioning and start-up, working closely with operations and metallurgy teams to ensure smooth integration and ramp-up.
  • Coordinate punch lists, defect rectification, and handover documentation related to process systems.
  • Identify process risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities and escalate to the Project Manager.
  • Provide regular discipline-specific progress updates and technical input into weekly project reporting.
  • Any other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  1. Degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Process Engineering.
  2. Essential site-based project execution and construction management experience
  3. Minimum 10 years of experience in process engineering and plant operations, including at least 5 years in a senior role supporting large-scale projects in gold processing or similar mineral processing industries, with expertise in EPC/EPCM contractor management and coordination.
  4. Strong understanding of commissioning and operational readiness.
  5. Strong knowledge of process design, optimization, and process control philosophy, with familiarity in control systems used in gold/minerals processing plants (SCADA, DCS).
  6. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISA), and regulations (e.g., health, safety, environmental).
  7. Proven ability to lead technical teams and collaborate with cross-functional disciplines.
  8. Strong skills in project scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, contractors, and senior management.
  10. Project management, supervisory, health, safety, and environmental certifications (e.g., PMP, ISO 14001, HAZOP, POM, POU, K3 Chemical/General) are a plus.
  11. Professional Engineering license (STRI, etc.) or equivalent certification preferred.
  12. Ability to demonstrate awareness of company safety and environmental policies and practices.
