Duties
Responsible for all lubrication work on equipment and coordinate with lube technicians;
Monitor and analyse parts usage, and continuously strive to improve usage;
Conduct condition-based monitoring activities, including oil analysis, vibration, thermography, NDT, QA/QC and other methods applicable to process plant equipment;
Maintain lubrication tools and instruments in good condition at all times;
Ensure that equipment and tools required to perform allocated work are available and in good condition, prior to commencing work;
Together with the Maintenance Planner, review and modify maintenance processes, procedures, service techniques, inspection periodicity or application to equipment;
Optimize systems to identify plant/asset criticality and mitigate failures;
Lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives;
Provide technical assistance to other maintenance personnel;
Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, e.g. Maintenance and Reliability Management, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or at least 5 years as a condition monitoring or lubrication technician, preferably in the mineral processing industry;
Several years of engineering experience performing condition monitoring especially related to lubrication activities in an industrial environment, preferably mining, but construction and other heavy industries including oil and gas, cement or manufacturing will be considered;
Detailed understanding and familiarity with reliability engineering principles;
Fluent in English, spoken and written;
Proficient in computers, particularly MS Word, Excel, MS Project or similar and Maintenance Management System, preferably SAP;
Level I Engine Lubricant Analyst, Vibration CAT II certified is preferred;
Able to demonstrate awareness of company safety and environment.
