Duties
Ensure all heavy and light fleet equipment is operational and reliable.
Monitor and control Physical Availability (PA) and Use of Availability (UA).
Improve Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
Lead the execution of Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules.
Review and approve maintenance plans prepared by supervisors.
Manage and control the maintenance budget.
Monitor cost per hour for each unit and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising reliability.
Lead and manage Supervisors, Foremen, and Technicians.
Conduct performance reviews, set individual targets, and develop team skills through training and coaching.
Enforce a zero-harm safety culture.
Ensure compliance with LOTO, PTW, and JSA.
Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Report daily/weekly/monthly fleet performance to the Maintenance Manager.
Analyze downtime reports, failure trends, and CMMS data.
Propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with Mining/Production for equipment availability planning.
Liaise with Warehouse/Procurement for parts and materials.
Manage relationships with OEM vendors and contractors.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years as a Superintendent or similar role, with strong people management skills.
Good command of English.
Proficient in maintenance software and technical reporting.
Engine systems (diesel, combustion cycle, cooling, lubrication)
Powertrain & transmission (manual, automatic, torque converter)
Hydraulic systems (open/closed circuit, cylinders, pumps, valves)
Electrical & electronic systems (CAN bus, ECM/ECU, sensors)
Brake & steering systems
Undercarriage systems (for tracked equipment)
Lifting Cranes (Grove 130, Terex Bendini 65T, Franna 20/25T)
Hydraulic Excavators (Komatsu PC201)
Flat back, light trucks, service trucks
Light vehicles, buses, man haul & support fleet
Awareness of company safety and environmental standards.
