Duties
Work In accordance with HSE guidelines, site rules, and exploration SOPs to ensure safe operations.
Assist Senior and Project Geologists in field mapping, sampling, and survey programs, applying appropriate exploration methods.
Review and assess new exploration targets based on historical and current exploration data.
Manage geological data collection and interpretation, including core/chip logging, sampling, and database updates, ensuring high dataquality sandards.
Supervise drilling operations, including drill site setup, rig configuration, contractor oversight, and validation of down-hole camera surveys inaccordance with approved plans.
Supervise and assist in drill core and chip sampling, ensuring data integrity, correct sample intervals, and prevention of contamination or
Maintain up-to-date logging, assay results, and drill cross-sections, ensuring timely and accurate data submission to the geology database.
Perform core yard activities, including core marking, geological and geotechnical logging for percussion and diamond drilling.Prepare drill cross-sections and geological interpretations to identify lithology, alteration, and mineralization for drilling decisions and
Build and mentor a competent OHS teamto uphold high safety standards across all operations.
Ensure all geological documentation, maps, tables, images, and logs are accurate, complete, and properly filed in both digital and hardcopy
Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual geology reports.
Develop a working understanding of QA/QC procedures for drilling, geochemical sampling, and assay programs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Geology.
Maximum 2 years of experience in exploration geology (fresh graduates are welcome).
Proficient in the use and maintenance of geological tools (compass, clinometer, GPS, etc.).
Solid understanding of rock identification, alteration, mineralization styles, and basic structural geology.
Proficient in MS Office, QGIS, Micromine, ArcGIS, or MapInfo.
Familiar with standard mapping and sampling methods.
Good communication skills with fluency in English (written and spoken).
Able to work collaboratively with other departmental teams such as Metallurgy, Mining, Environment, and others in exploration projects.
Possession of Driver’s License (SIM A); POP certification is an advantage.
Physically fit and willing to work long hours outdoors, in the core yard, field, and office.
