Handcraft Training by Archi to Support Economic Condition of the Local Communities

Tuesday, 10th November 2020

Archi Indonesia continues to support the local economy in North Sulawesi, especially in the villages surrounding the mine site area, through implemented CSR programs.

One of the CSR programs that has been carried out is the handcrafting coconut fiber and coconut shell waste by a local group called “Wale Gonofu Art & Craft” which is a local community in a village around the mine site area that was formed and guided directly by Archi’s CSR team through its subsidiary, MSM and TTN. The handicraft products such as coconut shell key chains, necklaces, foot mats are then packaged and sold as souvenirs of North Sulawesi. The program is expected to help the economic life of the local community, especially during this difficult period amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Through this local group, Archi hopes can continue to provide opportunities for villagers around the mine to work, while at the same time creating a better economy.
